SocialEngine Blog

SocialEngine is the best way to create a unique community website. Let your friends, fans or customers geek out about anything you want.

SocialEngine and Resellers

We’ve had several emails lately inquiring whether a particular company is an official reseller of ours or whether it’s legal to purchase a license from other third party locations.

We wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone that our website,, is the only legitimate and legal source of SocialEngine licenses. Any other venue selling or reselling SocialEngine licenses is fraudulent.

Aside from missing out on the great support and software updates from the SocialEngine team, running an unlicensed version of SocialEngine is illegal. If in doubt, please don’t hesitate to contact us regarding the legitimacy of a license or to report a reseller.

I am a customer and your official course supports your aspirations in the fight against piracy.
But at the same time, how about the fact that you have no support in Russian?

Yes, I see people trying to sell your software on forums quite often. I always tell the viewers of the post that it is not legal to buy or sell Social Engine Software except from I also tell people that a SE licence allows a free upgrade to SE4 when it comes out…and it will be awesome!

Frank Kern has been giving away this software as Good Karma List machine.

THOUSANDS now have this software free (simply with a changed name)

Sorry to see this happen to your company.

I also received this software from Frank Kern which he renamed as 'Good Karma List Machine', I have not installed it and am upset that Mr Kern chooses to do business in this way, damaging other companies as a result.

To be fair to Frank Kern, I think it's best to leave details of what is factual and what is not up to Frank and Social Engine to determine if GKLM is indeed a SE knockoff. Naming a specific person in a public forum is simply in poor taste. If Frank hires a company to code software for him, and the company he hires has less than reputable business practices, does that mean that Frank automatically is unethical himself? As The Lost Boys, Peter and Captain Hook from the movie Hook would say, "Bob and SM…bad form!"

SE team: Whatever you plan to do about this, be aware that the product launch that was recently mainly driven by giving away YOUR software easily raked in around $3mio in sales. just for your consideration.
