Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Everyone! We hope that you had a great holiday season and are ready for a fantastic 2011. We took a long weekend for the holidays, but we’re back in the office putting the finishing touches on version 4.1.

There was quite an influx of tickets over the holiday, so please bear with us as there might be a slight delay. Rest assured that we’re knocking them out as fast as we can.

I also want to point out that we have released a security patch to the music plugin, and we strongly encourage everyone using that plugin to upgrade. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Have a wonderful week – we’ll see you in the New Year!

    Happy New Year!

The security issue is about SE4.x only or is for SE3.x too?

The security issue is only in SE4.X – if you are running the music plugin for SE3.X, you should be just fine.

Can we get a sneak peek of the changes (besides the membership billing)?? Desperately need the classifieds and the events plug ins to have ability to be sub divided by networks! This way each network inside your SE Community could browse events and Classifieds for just their network (or geographical area). I'm excited for the new version!

Any chance you guys will improve spam controls? Maybe something like a "ban & clean" feature rather than the current cumbersome method

    1. we have to click through to the users account details to obtain an IP, email address, username

    2. Manually go to another screen to ban IP, email address and/or username

    3. Go back and delete the users account

It'd be nice to be able to do a one-touch removal that hits their IP, etc. Not to mention it'd be great to be able to easily view if there are multiple accounts using the same IP address, since this is a HUGE problem with spammers.

Allowing us to ban a range of IP addresses (or by country) might help as well, since China is awful for auto-signing up accounts that then spam members comments, private messages, make junk blogs filled with backlinks or post junk in the forums.
